Quake measuring 5.6 Hits Northern Sumatra

An earthquake of magnitude 5.6 on the Richter Scale struck Northern Sumatra in Indonesia yesterday. According to the Swiss seismological service, the depth of the earthquake was measured at 33 kilometres and occurred about 50 kilometres away from Simeulue island. At the time there were no reports of casualties or damage to property.
