Concerns Increase as More Rains Predicted in Suriname

We have a third report from arubagirl, our Dutch blogger-translator:

The newspaper 'Algemeen Dagblad' (General Daily), based in The Netherlands, writes that according to the local authorities the chances for an epidemic are increasing due to lack of proper help.

The waterlevels in the afflicted regions remain unchanged or are rising due to heavy rains. More rains are predicted for the coastline and in particular the capital Paramaribo.

The crisis team still doesn't have a proper grasp on what the number of evacuees are, according to the newspaper, but it is roughly estimated at 22,000.
