IFRC Makes Appeal for Funds for Suriname
The International Federation of Red Cross and Red crescent Societies (IFRC) is making an emergency appeal for $700,000 to assist 4,000 families (20,000 people) in Suriname over the next five months. The Federation's Disaster Relief Emergency Fund will allocate $83,000 to this need.
Water and sanitation interventions will be addressed as a priority matter, and five new health clinics will be established to replace those lost to the floods.
