Intitial Quake Evaluation: Possible Down Scale to 7.8M

Contact with the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center in Hawai has been established and the evaluation of the earthquake data suggests a down scale in magnitude to 7.8. There has been no indication from nearby gauges on a tsunami, but the monitoring and evaluation of data is ongoing. If the need arises, it can be said that UNOSAT who's monitoring the situation to produce standard overview map sets. Another bulletin update is expected from the Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre in approximately 20 - 30 minutes.
