Peru Quake: Update - 37 dead, 300 injured

According to an update by the National Institute of Civil Defense at 2210 local time, a confirmed death toll of 37 was issued with 300 injured in Ica. The Peruvian Red Cross is currently sending out an assessment team while the UNCT (United Nations Country Team) will be having a meeting with the assessment team at 0830 local time and the first situational report will be issued.

Various Search and Rescure teams are monitoring the situation with the British Civil Defence who have their SRI USAR Team placed on standby to respond should it be requested to do so along with SAR teams from the Colombian's governmental disaster relief team and USAID in Fairfax & Los Angeles. Responding to the disruption in communication where fixed phone lines and cell phone reception has been affected by the quake, TSF (Telecoms Sans Frontieres) in Nicaragua is monitoring the situation and have mentioned that they are ready for deployment if necessary.
