Eight months after the 5.8 magnitude earthquake which devastated L'Aquila, Italy last April, little has been done to clean up the rubble in that city or the other affected hill towns towns in the Abruzzo region of Italy. Spiegel Online International has an updated report, which details how Mafia corruption has entered the rebuilding process, and how the area's economy has stalled. Roughly 19,000 are waiting for new homes, and progress is slow or nonexistent.
