Kamchatka Penninsula Experiences Quake
An earthquake measuring 6 on the Richter scale struck the eastern coast of the Kamchatka Peninsula, in Russia's Far East, a local seismic station said Friday. The epicenter, which was identified at about 11.30 p.m. local time [10.30 a.m. GMT], was 90 kilometers (55 miles) northeast of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, the regional center.
No casualties, destruction or tsunami threat have been reported.
