7.2 Quake, Aftershocks Rock USA - Mexico Border

It is estimated that 20 million people have felt the shaking of the Easter afternoon 7.2 earthquake in Guadalupe Victoria, Baja California, Mexico. Guadalupe is located 30 miles south of Mexicali, Mexico and about 120 miles east of the U.S. city, San Diego. The quake struck at 3:40 p.m. High rise buildings in Riverside, Los Angeles and San Diego were reported to have been rocking back and forth. The earthquake was also felt in in Palm Springs, California; Phoenix, Arizona; and Las Vegas. No significant damage was reported in Southern California, but the twin border towns of Calexico, California and Mexicali, Mexico have both sustained significant damage. two deaths have been reported. Dozens of aftershocks have been reported.
