SMS Report from a Relief Personnel
Received via SMS from one of the aid relief personnel that have been placed on standby:
Aid teams and the UNDAC are awaiting a formal request for Jakarta before deployment takes it's form. OCHA ROAP* has activated its Emergency Event SOPs** in light of the W. Sumatra earthquake at 10:49 hours local time today. Basic equipment for a field presence in W. Sumatra is at hand for the team. Preliminary logistical arrangements are being made; however, we will await a request from Jakarta before fielding the staff.
