Emergency Communications in Peru Expected by Mid-Afternoon

Peruvian authorities are having difficulty contacting several regions affected by Wednesday evening's earthquake, and Prime Minister, Jorge Del Castillo, fears that the death toll in Peru will increase. Télécoms Sans Frontières (TSF), which partners with the United Nations, will be on the ground in Peru by 2:00 pm Peruvian time, and will be able to provide satellite-based telecom centers offering broadband Internet, phone and fax lines in a matter of minutes.
